TNC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. While we are unable to endorse individual political parties, we are registered as an educational service, and can share with you tips on how to vote morally.

Sometimes voting can seem like choosing between the lesser of two evils. At TNC, we are hopeful that tomorrow's world will be a more moral one. But in order for our societies to get to that place, much work is left to be done. It's important that you and your family become strategic in resolving the moral issues facing your community by educating yourself about your Representatives and your community's issues. As you head to the voting booth to cast your ballot, you'll want to keep in mind what your core values are, in order to not become caught up in the political atmosphere and propaganda around you.

VOTING TIPS FOR U.S. CITIZENS

✅ According to FindLaw, you do not have to vote on every measure, referendum, and candidate option available to you. If you are only interested in voting for a Governor, Mayor, or particular measure/referendum, you may limit your votes to those sections of your ballot. Your votes will count even if the rest of your ballot options are blank. Due to the changing nature of law, please confirm this information with your polling office.

✅ When voting you will notice that candidates may be listed as (R), (D), (I), etc. These letters represent their political party affiliation. Regardless of a candidate's political affiliation, what matters most is where they stand on core moral issues. A candidate may share your political affiliation, but not your core values. Visit BallotReady to find out more about the candidates and issues in your state and city. Once at their website, enter the address where you live, and select "Get Started". Choose the option "Research Your Ballot" to read more about exactly what and who you will be able to cast your vote for. Print or note your choices and carry those decisions with you to your voting booth for easy selection.

✅ Finally, remember your core values. Though core values may expand into various areas, knowing your core values will allow you to consider where measures and political positions fall along that moral law spectrum. Universal Core moral values are do not: murder, steal, engage in sexually illicit relationships, curse your Creator, engage in idolatry, consume flesh from a living creature, and oppose justice. Consider the weight of the decisions that your future Governor, Mayor, Senator, and Judges may have on your community's moral fabric. Also consider the present and future effects that each measure and referendum may have. Will your vote lead to long term moral consequences?

✅ While it's important to think about how your vote will affect you and your family, please also consider your entire community and state.

Thank you for taking the time to cast your vote. By doing so you have intentionally helped to make the world a better place!
